What I'm really interested in is people.
Growing up on 10 acres outside Toowoomba, I was captivated by what people could create - the way a well-considered building could shape how you feel, how you move through a space, how you live. That fascination never left. If I'm honest, architecture was always a vehicle for something deeper: a genuine curiosity about people - what motivates them, what makes them happy, what a home needs to be for this family, at this point in their lives.
Graduating from the University of Queensland with a Masters in Architecture, I have spent the last 15 years working across almost every corner of residential design: apartments, townhouses, prefab housing, and the kind of deeply personal new homes and renovations that change the way a family experiences their daily life.
A formative chapter was helping to build and lead the in-house architecture team at Mosaic Property Group, one of Brisbane's most awarded multi-residential developers. Working inside a development and construction business gave me an unusually practical lens. I understood design not just as an aesthetic pursuit but as something that had to perform financially, structurally, and on program. That combination of design ambition and commercial pragmatism is something I carry into every project today.
Before starting my own practice, I also ran the Brisbane branch of a Building Design studio, sharing an office with a local builder and working closely with homeowners on renovations and extensions. Measuring up existing homes, understanding what wasn't working, and helping people reimagine their space gave me a unique perspective into the different ways people live.
Outside the practice, my wife and I have spent the past decade doing what I love most - buying properties and improving them.
